Data Stellare 4598.0: L'Enterprise arriva su Sigma Iotia II, un pianeta già contattato un secolo prima dalla Horizon. Purtroppo in quel periodo non era ancora in vigore la Prima Direttiva e Kirk scopre che gli Iotiani hanno modellato la loro società basandosi su un libro sui gangster, Chicago Mobs of the Twenties, abbandonato dalla Horizon nel 2168.
- Per confondere gli Iotiani Kirk si inventa il gioco di carte del fizzbinn, che sarebbe originario di Beta Antares IV e avrebbe regole complicatissime.
