- Al momento della partenza dell'Enterprise dalla stazione, i triboli erano 1.771.561.
- Il nome del pianeta Sherman deriva da Holly Sherman, un'amica di David Gerrold.
- Nel teaser, la voce fuori campo di Kirk dice che si stanno dirigendo verso la stazione spaziale «KT» ma subito dopo la stazione spaziale diventa «K-7». Presumibilmente si tratta di un errore di trascrizione (un 7 è diventato una T in qualcuna delle tante fasi di manipolazione del testo).
- Quando il negoziante e Cyrano Jones trattano il prezzo dei triboli, parlano di «denari» come unità monetaria. In altri episodi, invece, la moneta federale è chiamata «credito». Sarà un errore di un traduttore, o sarà la valuta locale della stazione K-7?
- Una frase incomprensibile: verso la fine dell'episodio, Kirk si rivolge a Cyrano Jones e gli dice «Venda anche un grattacielo». La frase non c'entra assolutamente nulla con il contesto.
- Si dice che Cyrano Jones viaggia a bordo della sua «monoposto spaziale». Chissà se è una Honda o una Ferrari... Non si poteva semplicemente tradurre «astronave personale»?
- I siluri fotonici vengono chiamati «torpedini a fotoni».
- Nell'audio italiano i triboli vengono chiamati priboli, nei sottotitoli del DVD, invece, il nome è corretto.
- Nomination al premio Hugo 1968 nella categoria «Best Dramatic Presentation».

McCoy: Oh. Don't tell me you've got a feeling!
Spock: Don't be insulting. [T:28:36]
McCoy: It is a human characteristic to love little animals, especially if they're attractive in some way.
Spock: Doctor, I am well aware of human characteristics. I am frequently inundated by them, but I've trained myself to put up with anything.
McCoy: Spock, I don't know much about these little tribbles yet, but there's one thing I've discovered.
Spock: What is that, Doctor?
McCoy: I like them, better than I like you.
Spock: Doctor?
McCoy: Yes?
Spock: They do have one redeeming characteristic.
McCoy: What's that?
