Trama

Data Stellare 41601.3: Mentre l'Enterprise si appresta al rendez-vous con una navetta che dovrebbe riportare Deanna Troi a bordo, quest'ultima è costretta ad un atterraggio su Vagra II, un pianeta apparentemente disabitato. Il recupero si dimostra però tutt'altro che facile, a causa di una presenza aliena ostile.

• In una scena tagliata, durante il funerale, l'ologramma di Tasha si rivolgeva a Data e diceva «Data, it did happen».

• Dopo la morte di Tasha Yar, Picard assegna l'incarico di capo della sicurezza a Worf.

Blooper

• Dopo che Riker è stato risucchiato nella pozza oleosa, Geordi vi fa cadere accidentalmente il proprio phaser [T:24:48]; dopo questa scena, il phaser torna magicamente in possesso del Tenente [T:27:17].
• L'immagine del computer a cui Worf sta guardando all'inizio dell'episodio [T:06:17] è la stessa che si vede in seguito nel diagramma di livelli di energia di Armus [T:25:38].
