Trama

2154: L'equipaggio incontra un'anomalia transdimensionale e Phlox è costretto a mettere tutto l'equipaggio in uno stato di coma per sopravvivere al fenomeno. Il dottore e T'Pol restano le uniche due persone coscienti a bordo, ma Phlox inizia a soffrire di allucinazioni e teme di perdere il controllo della situazione.

• T'Pol dice che sono trascorse «several weeks» dall'episodio precedente.
• L'Enterprise incontra un'altra anomalia simile a quella incontrata in Harbinger.
• Solamente Phlox e Porthos non sono influenzati dall'anomalia.
• Vediamo che nemmeno Phlox è immune dalla frase «I'm a physician not a...» tipica di molti medici di Star Trek.
• Phlox vede un film in sala mensa, The Court Jester (Il Giullare Del Re) del 1956, questo è il dialogo che si vede nell'episodio:

  Griselda: Just remember that.

• Come mai Phlox esplora locali della nave al buio utilizzando una torcia? Non sarebbe più facile accendere le luci?
• A parte la somiglianza con One, il tema di una nave deserta è già stato affrontato in The Mark of Gideon, Starship Mine, Invasive Procedures e The Catwalk.
• Anche qui Phlox racconta la storia al suo amico, Dottor Lucas, come in Dear Doctor.
• All'inizio della lettera a Lucas, Phlox gli parla della sua permanenza su Denobula e del suo attuale incarico sulla Terra. Cold Station 12 è ambientato pochi mesi dopo, ma in quell'episodio li sembra che Lucas sia a bordo della Cold Station 12 da parecchio tempo.

Versione italiana

• In occasione della prima trasmissione in Italia, questo episodio è stato trasmesso senza la sigla iniziale ed è stato unito a Harbinger, privato dei titoli di coda. Tra i due episodi è stato trasmesso un breve stacco che mostra l'Enterprise mentre entra in curvatura e il logo «Star Trek Enterprise» accompagnati da un jingle tratto dalla sigla di apertura.
