Data Stellare Sconosciuta: Con il campo minato che protegge la Federazione sul punto di cedere, Sisko guida un'apparente missione suicida per riprendere Deep Space Nine.

Quando la Defiant si trova davanti la flotta del Dominio, O'Brien inizia a recitare una poesia che poco dopo viene continuata da Bashir. La poesia è The Charge of the Light Brigade (La carica dei 600) di Lord Alfred Tennyson:

All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
"Forward, the Light Brigade!
"Charge for the guns!" he said:

Un annuncio ordina a tutto il personale del Dominio numero 4, 7 e 12 di abbandonare la stazione spaziale.

Versione italiana

Durante l'attacco federale alla flotta Dominio-Cardassiana, Sisko pronuncia diverse volte la parola «destroyer», mentre coordina la strategia di attacco delle altre navi. Nei sottotitoli c'è la traduzione «incrociatore», ma «destroyer» significa «cacciatorpediniere».
Ad un certo punto, O'Brien dice che le navi sono 1254, mentre i sottotitoli riportano il numero 1245.
Nei dialoghi italiani Dukat dice a Weyoun che all'altro capo del tunnel ci sono 28.000 navi del Dominio, ma in originale sono solamente 2.800.

Scene tagliate

L'episodio termina con Dukat, impazzito per la perdita della figlia, che dice a Sisko «I forgive you, too» e gli consegna la palla da baseball, dopodiché era prevista questa scena:

    JAKE
  You did it, Dad. You won.

    SISKO

That takes some of the wind out of Jake's sail.

    SISKO
  But let's worry about that
  tomorrow.

as he throws an arm around his son.
