Prima di lavorare per Star Trek, Brannon Braga è stato anche produttore di video musicali.

Nell'estate 1997, Braga è stato promosso coproduttore esecutivo di Voyager ed ha firmato un accordo triennale con la Paramount per la creazione di nuove serie e nuovi progetti.

Alla fine della sesta stagione di Voyager, Braga ha lasciato la serie per dedicarsi a Enterprise.

Dopo la chiusura di Enterprise, nel novembre 2005 ha annunciato di voler abbandonare definitivamente Star Trek.
